Headset Leasing Through Sunrise Global Aviation

What is it?

Asset leasing reduces ‘year on year’ capital outlay costs. Simply, it frees up cash flow, but with the added value of replenishment leasing it can remove the costly process of headset repair and refurbishment. The payments are fixed over the entire term of the lease.

The headset remains the property of Sunrise Global Aviation until the end of the lease period whereby it can be purchased outright for the ‘written down’ price or the lease can be extended.

With a ‘Replenishment’ lease, an agreed number of headsets can be replaced without additional cost. This allows for breakage, or loss.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Avoids the need for continued capital outlay

  • Removes the risk of owning fragile, old, frequently repaired, early generation headsets

  • Reduces the number of spares carried by the airline. Replacements are held by Sunrise Global Aviation at no cost

  • Fixed rental for whole period, making budget planning easier

  • Flexible leasing contracts tailored to meet your requirements

  • Full maintenance/replenishment can be included in your fixed monthly rental

  • Removes depreciating assets from your balance sheet

  • VAT 100% reclaimable

  • 100% of rental can be offset against taxable profits

How does it work?

The monthly rental is based on the discounted cost of the headset, the contract period and the residual value. A Replenishment lease additionally takes into account all service and maintenance costs, together with any additional costs such as temporary replacement headsets.

How is it accounted for?

Rentals paid are fully deductible against corporation tax. Headsets on contract hire are not recorded as assets on the balance sheet

Our Approach

The cornerstone of Sunrise Global Aviation’s approach to leasing is transparency. All costs are visible from the start. We can manage the purchase, maintenance, repair, collection and disposal of all headsets.

The result of such a plan is that you will have the use of higher quality, more reliable, new equipment, yet be able to demonstrate a cost saving.

Refurbished Headsets vs New HMEC 26

  • Younger fleet of more durable headsets means fewer aircraft tech log entries and directly reduces line engineer man hours spent replacing U/S headsets

  • Reduces the risk of operational delays due headset unserviceability

  • Removes the need for expensive refurbishment. Individual service parts are ordered and the sum of these parts is much more than the cost of a new headset

  • A direct cost saving is made in the labour time of an ‘in house’, skilled avionics engineer performing refurbishment and servicing on U/S headsets

  • Massive reduction in requirement for airline to stock spares. HMEC 26 is a standard headset with interchangeable cables for all aircraft types. Only one headset specification need be used. If the lease method is used, even fewer spares need to be carried

  • Updated design is more durable and resists cable damage

  • Headset is lighter and more comfortable

  • Active Noise Reduction (ANR) quality has increased markedly. This benefit is often overlooked as it directly affects pilot ‘situational awareness’. The consequences of a loss of communication quality on the flight deck are well documented. There are also marked physiological benefits to the pilot.
